Visit the amazing Nozawa Onsen Distillery and try their unique range of gins or get a tour. Enjoy a tasting flight of 4 gins for ¥1000 or try a cocktail from the bar! Open from 12:00 to 19:30 (Closed on Tuesdays).

Gondola ride

Take a gondola ride up the mountain and explore its seasonal beauty. Visit the fantastic lookout, dine at Servus Restaurant, or enjoy a pleasant picnic on the Uenotaira Plateau.

Lake Hokuryuko

Just a short 5-minute drive or a 45-minute walk from Nozawa, you'll find the beautiful heart-shaped Lake Hokuryuko. You can soak in the serenity or dive into activities like stand-up paddle boarding (SUP), canoeing, or fishing.

Morning Market

Every Sunday during summer there is a morning market on Oyu street. Stalls feature homemade goods like pickles, jams, and traditional Japanese sweets made with local ingredients. Artisans sell handmade crafts making for unique souvenirs. Food stalls provide delicious local snacks and breakfast options, including Tanuki's freshly baked pastries, perfect for enjoying while exploring the market.

Mountain Biking

During summer, the Nagasaka gondola operates from early July to late August, making it easy to take your bike up and ride down the trails or simply enjoy the stunning views. With local bike hire shops, guided tours, and trails for all skill levels, mountain biking here offers an unparalleled mix of adventure, natural beauty, and cultural experiences. Gear up for an unforgettable mountain biking adventure!

Onsen

Relax in one of the 13 free bathhouses in Nozawa Onsen. The source is a naturally weakly alkaline spring water, delivering a soothing and therapeutic experience without any artificial additives or recycled water. This pristine hot spring water is drawn from a network of over 30 sources, offering temperatures ranging from 40°C to a toasty 55°C, catering to various visitor preferences.

Relaxation & Rejuvenation

Soak in an onsen or enjoy a massage - there are plenty of places offering various types of massages and spa treatments. Yoga and meditation sessions set in peaceful, natural spots are also available.

Snow Monkeys

If you’re planning a trip to Nozawa Onsen, make sure to include a visit to the famous snow monkeys at Jogokudani monkey park! It’s a highlight for many visitors and definitely worth a visit.
